Camec 13kW Digital Instant Gas Water Heater, White - NEW Model, 2 Year Warranty. The new updated CAMEC digital instantaneous gas water heater is now available with 30% more power than the previous model. The increased performance of the instantaneous gas water heater provides continuous hot water with an increased water flow for daily use when caravanning.
The external housing, water and gas connection points remains unchanged on the new instantaneous gas water heater. This reduces the need to do any additional installation work should an upgrade to the new instantaneous gas water heater is required.
The Camec Instantaneous Water Heater system is an economical solution for RVs to supply constant hot water. Unlike 240V systems that draw massive current, clever design of this system means it can operate for many hours at maximum heating capacity from just one 9kg gas bottle! The digital controller gives you flexibility to set your desired water temperature plus peace of mind knowing the water temperature can be controlled so it will not be too hot for children.
One of the key benefits of an RV instantaneous water heater is that gas is only used when water flows (the water heater is activated by the initial flow of water through the system). The remote digital display not only allows you to set your desired water temperature, it also can turn the unit on an off; displays the current water temperature as the water is flowing plus it displays system error codes when required for simple problem solving.

Will this work with a 4kg gas bottle as well? Assuming you have all the correct fittings.

Provided you have all of the correct fittings and plumbing is done correctly we see no reason why a 4kg gas bottle would not be suitable.

How much clearance does the water heater need for installation?
There must be a minimum of 25 cm of clearance between the vent cover and any other surface but It can be mounted with zero clearance around the sides top and bottom of the unit, just make sure that the installation does not interfere with any wiring, plumbing or cabinets

Can I install this unit myself?
No, as this is a gas product it is essential you have a certified gas fitter perform the installation. If you need to lodge a warranty claim with this product a gas certificate needs to be presented to claim

Can this Camec Hot Water be used on 240v?
No, this unit is an instant GAS hot water appliance. You will need 12v power to control the ignitor and control panel.

Well worth the wait Review by Daryl PowellAfter our Hansen HWS ceased to operate and we ascertained that parts are not available we researched a replacement unit. The Camec instant gas HWS attracted our interest because:- 1. Identical dimensions to the unit being scrapped, 2. No storage tank so no nocturnal noise to maintain temperature, 3. Logically more efficient to operate, 4. The technology eg remote control to vary temperature was attractive, and 5. Price seemed attractive given available alternatives. Unfortunately there was a dearth of usable information and the actual units were out of stock in October 2018. We waited and now the unit is installed and operating could not be happier. Recently I used the caravan to shower and was amazed at the quality and quantity of usable water - set at 45 degrees I needed to keep adding cold to the mix. One word of caution- these units whilst relatively uncomplicated need to be professionally installed by a gas fitter who will provide a certificate of compliance.(Posted on 15 December 2018)
