• 1. Can I use this generator to charge my power tool batteries?

  Charging battery packs is fine from a conventional generator, we'd recommend having a steady load on the generator and don't connect appliances that will cause the load to jump around during charging.

• 2. What engine oil should I use with the Pramac 5.9kVA Electric Start Diesel Generator generator?

  This generator requires standard engine oil: either 10W-30 or 10W-40. This is available from any local service station.

• 3. We have solar panels on our house. Do we need to get an electrician to hook it into our metre box? What happens when the power fails, do we just start it ourselves?

  The Pramac auto-start generator range is very popular as a backup to off-grid solar set ups. Via a two-wire auto start controller the generator is connected to your solar battery set up (this is undertaken by a solar installer / electrician). When your batteries get low on charge, the generator will automatically start up to recharge your battery packs and then automatically stop again once your batteries are back to full charge.
