Houghton Belaire HB2800 Reverse Cycle Roof Top Air Conditioner, 2 Year Warranty. The ultra-light, stylish, low profile canopy and plenum make this unit the perfect choice for light caravans. The Houghton Belaire HB2800 is designed to fit perfectly in modern caravans and motorhomes, with an easy to read LED display showing mode settings and temperature.
The Houghton HB2800 is designed for the Australian climate. Its length of only 85 cm creates flexibility on a Caravan roof, with great opportunity to fit equipment such as solar panels, antennas, and vents.
This air conditioner is a low profile, light, powerful and compact unit. The small roof top footprint, 855 x 657 mm (LxW), permits more space for roof top accessories. The low profile at 215 mm height, gives the flexibility at low entry points.
The HB2800 is robust, strong, and light weight to withstand the harshest Australian climates. It is designed with a polypropylene that is UV stabilised.
The unit also comes with a remote control, that makes it easy to use from any part of your living area. With the LED display on the unit, you will be able to easily read the mode and temperature settings. With help of the remote control, you can turn the display on and off.
Designed with a 4-way outlet from the interior unit to provide an air flow all through the caravan. With the 3 fan speeds the unit also have 5 operation modes: Auto, Fan, Cool, Heat and Dry (dehumidify). This will create the ultimate control over the environment in your caravan. The unit is also equipped with a timer function, which will permit you to program when to start and stop the cooling and heating.
With help of an advanced micro controller, it will automatically care of the coil defrost, compressor protection and fault monitoring of the unit.

Why the difference in price between this brand and the Dometic?
The Dometic have a 3 year warranty, whereas the Houghton only have 2. The Dometic also have the option of an inverter air conditioner, which is a newer design.

Great Product Review by Ian LeachWe bought this unit to replace an existing Dometic unit whose end had come. Since we have a pop top the reduced weight when compared to other models was appealing. The unit was very easy to install. However, because pop-tops use a H frame for support the bolts supplied were short but I easily bought some longer bolts. The flexible duct connecting the outer unit and inner outlet wouldn't reach but that was solved by rotating the lower lip revealing more duct. The pop-top lifts noticeably easier than we'd anticipated. Initial testing looks good, the remote certainly makes it easier for my vertically challenged wife to adjust settings. The compressor seems quieter than the old one and having digital temperature setting will be an improvement.(Posted on 3 June 2021)
