1. When my smart alternator vehicle is off and solar is connected, will my lithium battery charger use solar power to charge my auxiliary battery bank? And once the car is turned on, will it prioritise the alternator?
For most lithium battery chargers, vehicle charging will take priority when the car ignition is on.

2. Would you recommend using a separate MPPT solar regulator alongside the DC to DC charger to charge a secondary battery from both sources simultaneously, or is a DC to DC charger with MPPT input sufficient for this?
From our experience we do not see the need for an additional MPPT for charging a second battery at the same time as charging from the vehicle's alternator.
We have a selection of chargers that can output up to 50A at 12V which is a lot of charging power.
