Lithium Batteries For Caravans FAQs:

  • Firstly, the 200Ah manages to hold more current in a smaller and lighter package. The 200ah also has benefits in being able to power higher draw products, as it has a higher discharge rating.

  • The below generators are the minimum recommend sizes based on an AVR generator:

    • 800VA 2KVA
    • 1200VA 2.5KVA
    • 1600VA 3KVA
    • 3000VA 5KVA
    • 5000VA 8KVA

If your generator is smaller than the recommended size for your inverter/charger, you will definitely need to adjust the settings on the inverter/charger and reduce the AC input current limit, and/or a DC charge current limit to prevent overloading the generator. If you do want an inverter based generator, get one that is at least 30% larger than required than an equivalent AVR based model to help prevent overloads.

  • No. Due to the construction of the B-TEC cases the batteries must be installed in a dry environment to protect against moisture ingress.

  • The short answer is yes. The long answer is - make sure the link cables are of the same size or greater than your load/charging requirements and no more than 4 batteries in parallel. With low to medium current draw installations (the vast majority of applications) you may never see an issue and your storage capacity will be greatly increased - I.E. 2 x 200 Amp = 400 Amp capacity. When installing, fully charge the batteries separately - then let sit for 30 minutes before connecting together.
