Seriously though used it to provide power to major appliances in my home when the electricity supplier decided to turn off the power for maintenance. Ran from 9 till 4 on a tank of fuel and never missed a beat. Will be using it in the van on my big loop next year.

I LOVE my genny. I've used it many times to charge up my AGM batteries and fire up hot water system in my MH. She starts first pull Every time and purrs on low load. The revs speed up when heating the HW system but I don't use this very often, so the noise factor is no biggie.

DOING THE JOB HASSLE FREE! Review by Michael McKee

Started on first pull, runs the aircon and hot water and all lights etc. Initially ran for 10 minutes and then gradually put accessories on it did stop when switched hot water on but realised that it was on economy. Switched to full and everything ran smoothly and later put on to economy and no problem.

We bought this generator for our caravan, after adding oil and fuel it started on the 3rd or fourth pull. Very quite when its not under load however it was noisier then expected when under load. We ran our Dometic Harrier AC, microwave, toaster and kettle okay, only one appliance at a time. Overall very happy with the Generator does what we wanted it for.

Previous Generator died so I needed a new one. I was looking at getting a Honda, then saw these Cromtech. After reading a lot of reviews and doing a bit of research I decided to purchase. After all, it's half the price and slightly bigger in capacity. My order arrived faster than was stated and in good condition. Filled up the oil, put in some petrol and first pull it stated! Very impressed. These generators are light weight, quiet and do exactly what they're supposed to. Quality of finish is quite good too. We live one the road in our 5th wheel caravan and don't need a gennie very often so I would expect a long life from this generator. Would recommend one to others.

After researching many generators, this one came up as the best value for money. My main criteria were, noise, cost and continuous power output. The Cromtech 2400 starts easily and is surprisingly quiet. I tested the auto throttle with the different settings on a hair dryer and the generator rpm increased nicely as the power requirement increased. I do not intend to use it consistently over long periods of time so expect longevity will not be a problem. Main use will be for emergency backup and charging batteries on caravan. The noise level whilst charging batteries is very low and would not bother anyone in the vicinity. Best value for money by far.

Put the oil in and a little bit of fuel (98 RON) set the choke and it started first pull. Very easy. Put it on load to a heater and it supplied the demand no problem. However, it was a bit nosier than I expected (due to their marketing) but it was running in my workshop. However, my other (slightly smaller) generator was noticeably quieter in the same location . Maybe it needs to be "run-in".

Purchased this generator after several power outages in my area and needed for emergency back up. Have only used once so far but ran smoothly and quietly throughout the day powering home essentials fridge, power to electronic devices etc. Used about 2.5 litres of fuel over 7 hours. I looked at them all, Honda's, Yamaha's, kings etc etc, I settled on this one for a few reasons, Cromwell"s have been around for a long time, the amount I'll actually use it versus cost versus size, weight etc, I've had it for about 2mths and used it only twice, both time's - awesome. It's quiet enough to be able to have a conversation within 2metres of it, it starts 1st time, it's not too heavy, For 2400 watts, it's finished nicely, easy to use, can't wait to use it camping/4 wheel driving. sweet.

The generator starts after a couple of pulls on the recoil. Is really under load running the air con in my caravan and once the fridge is engaged the generator is screaming it’s guts out, I guess the fridge can run on gas. Now we’ll see how it stands the test of time as it won’t get a great deal of use but will be started regularly.

I ordered the Cromtech 2400 as a backup power source so I haven’t really given it a good run yet but it was easy to set up. What I liked was that the footprint and the weight was small for a 2.4KW generator. It took a while for the generator to arrive, 2 weeks but in all fairness there are difficulties with all imported products due to the pandemic.

Bought the Chromtech 2400 as a second hand unit from a mate, who originally bought it to overcome an power blackout problem he encountered while working on the tools just out of Brisbane, and he no other alternative to buy this 2400 chromtech, so when he said he was going to offload it and at the price of $600 dollars, and being an avid camper I jumped at it and him and didn't let him get away, so in summary although being second hand it has not missed a beat and now it's over two years old and run s like a purring kitten, performs all; that I could wish for, runs my 60 litre fridge, 2 CPAP machines and when needed the toaster, and kettle,plus lights, just make sure I don't overload it with all at the same time, but in my words it's a little ripper.

Excellent unit, looks very well put together, put some oil & petrol in and 2nd pull away she went ticking over like a two bob watch. Hooked it up the the caravan and started the air con (Ibis 4) hardly murmured, turned the fridge on as well and the revs picked up a bit, but still quietly ticking over. Thought I'd test it and turned the hot water system on as well. That made it run flat out but I left all three going for about 10 minutes and no problem. Very good to know. I turned everything off and then tried the electric kettle (1850 -2200 watts on the label) It loaded the generator up but it boiled the kettle no problems. Looking forward to using it in future. Very happy so far.

Product arrived in quick time, sooner than I expected. After reading the manual and instructions I added fuel and oil, gave it two gentle half pulls and then a gentle full pull and it started very easily and continues to start in the same manner. I have now been away for 7 days and have used it each day. I use it mainly to charge up my caravan battery and whilst that is charging I can run my Ac on heat cycle, microwave and charge my phones and tablets. I asked my neighbor in our free camp if he minded me running my generator and he said that he had left his genie at home so I offered to let him hook onto mine and we charged both batteries while we enjoyed the fire and a drink. He agreed it was a great value generator.

Purchased Generator for running my caravans ibis 3 air con while free camping in the warmer months. I have used it once so far over a weekend a worked faultlessly. Kept the caravan super cool while camping on the Murrumbidgee river. Noise level was fine under load (way quieter than my friends kings generator running beside mine). I went for a cheaper brand generator as It will be only used around 5 times a year. As I have a EU10 to charge batteries if needed and use a diesel heater in the colder months. An other selling point was even though it is a Chinese gene we have a Crommelins service agent in town. Very happy with my purchase.

Delivered extremely promptly. Small technical issue, but the service department sorted that out whilst I waited. I have hooked up lights, TV and a fan heater so far, and it hasn't missed a beat. It appears to be a very capable generator with excellent local back-up.

Delivered extremely promptly. Small technical issue, but the service department sorted that out whilst I waited. I have hooked up lights, TV and a fan heater so far, and it hasn't missed a beat. It appears to be a very capable generator with excellent local back-up.

We were on our maiden trip last week end at a free camp, we had all the comforts of home in our van, hot water, lighting and fridges all running and our quiet generator just purring away in the back ground, we were quite surprised how quiet it was and great fuel consumption as well, we think we have made a really good choice .

Tried my car polisher 1200 watt powered it easily. Tested on my RV and will run my air conditioner that draws 6.0 amps (1440 watts) very happy. This unit will be fully tested at the Big Red Bash in Birdsville this July.

Very impressed with the quality. I pulled it out of the box, loaded it with oil and fuel, followed the starting instructions and it started on the FIRST pull! Unbelievable! Plugged our Jurgens Lunagazer into it and it easily runs the Sparrow air conditioning whilst also running the fridge,and battery charger. It also runs our Aldi coffee machine and the toaster separately. It’s pretty quite but you will still need to be respectful of your fellow campers. Did a lot of research on this size generator and apart from the price, the Cromtech service network was the deal clincher for me.

The price was too good to pass up, and why would you go past the Cromtech with all the positive reviews anyway. Since it was delivered I have filled the oil and petrol tanks, given it a trial run, first powering the caravan air conditioner then the fridge (at the same time). The Cromtech handled the tasks easily and quietly, confirming my confidence in it's performance. I look forward to using my Genny and the benefits it will provide for us as we travel. We ordered our new “My Generator” recently in anticipation of the bad weather that was ominously forecast for northern NSW. Luckily, we were well prepared, as there were monstrous winds, trees down everywhere and the power dropped out for several hours. Not in our house though, thanks to the compact and easy to use “My generator” we had power on hand straight away. And also, I’d like to add it was first pull start and extremely quiet whilst in operation so as not to offend our neighbors- or to make them jealous!!

Took the Cromtech down to Tassie where it started easily and powered the van with no drama. Quiet and efficient, we reckon we got at least 10 hrs out of one tank when we were on idle just powering a small heater and some lights, pretty handy considering it was minus one outside and snowing! easy to carry and store in car when travelling, would highly recommend this generator for the family camping trip.

I had a Yamaha ef2400is generator, but it wasn't putting out a consistent enough output for our new caravan - no problems with the old van, but the new van's electronics are obviously more sensitive. The Yamaha tripped the fuse switch instantly, all the time. So after reading reviews, I read about the Cromtech 2400 & liked the idea of same output as the Yamaha but 12kg lighter, smaller, quieter and less than half the price. So far, it is faultless. It's output is not tripping the fuse switch, it is easy to start and being 12kg lighter is so much easier to move around. And, it's less than half the price of the Yamaha. Ummm, Cromtech clearly the better option for me.

I have only just received and commissioned the generator, will be used while off grid in my van as required. Quality, looks good and I like the quiet operation, higher power output and lower weight than the higher priced benchmark product. It is also compact in size. I appreciate that this unit is not designed for continuous heavy duty and expect it will meet my occasional need for a coffee off grid and to top up the batteries when solar is in short supply. The noise level should be acceptable in most off grid circumstances.

Seems quiet as honda but much lighter and cheaper. I like the security of cromtech service centres if need one. I would normally buy a dearer unit but am glad I did not.

Have had a good look over it checking for loose screws and bolts which is a comon problem with Chinese equipment but could not find any. Great to see and with the backing of so many service agents parts should be no problem if needed.

I told a mate of mine about my ideas, and he asked me to purchase an identical unit for him. And so I did. Perfectly happy with mine, and can see no reason for paying twice the price for a red one.

Started looking at Honda 2.0i which was on special. Wasn't sure I could justify the $1,800 simply to cool my van when off-grid. Further research revealed this product. I was prompted to buy it based on the history of the Crommelins business, the numerous positive reviews and of course the price. Arrived within 2 days. I put the recommended oil in it and some juice and it fired up straight away. I have added an $8 eBay hour meter, after watching installation instructions on YouTube. Have run the air con on my van with it as a test, and it works a treat. It picks up the revs for a couple of seconds when the compressor kicks in, then goes back to its eco mode, chugging along. Very happy with my purchase.

The Generator is not too big, and not too heavy, but has a good output rating. I have only used it for about 3 hours but had no problem powering my appliances. The quality and finish is good. Best of all the support from the manufacturer is second to none. I had a query about the generator next thing I know the manufacturer was calling me in person to answer my query. This gives me confidence that if I have an issue with the generator the support and parts are available.

Finally got around to buying a generator AFTER being blacked out for 3 days. Fridges/freezers, sewage treatment plant, gas/solar hot water (needs power), internet and charged mobile phones all make life so much easier when working... This unit will do duty as disaster backup for these purposes plus is easily portable in a normal car for camping trips. My 57 yr old back will not be strained carrying it. Smooth clean neat exterior with no snags. It starts VERY easily and hums away unobtrusively, especially on light loading when the auto-throttle backs it down to near idle. The controls are simple. 2 USB charging sockets are great bonus. For my requirements, it ticks all the boxes and then the price made it an easy decision. Not a lot of use so far but have run it several times without issue.

It's quiet enough to have a conversation next to without yelling, but that was under no load, I haven't yet tested it under full load. It starts on the first pull and runs smoothly. The only thing that is a bit unintuitive is that the ignition switch is turned on by rotating it to the left. I have never seen anything turned on in any direction other than clockwise.

It's quiet enough to have a conversation next to without yelling, but that was under no load, I haven't yet tested it under full load.It starts on the first pull and runs smoothly. The only thing that is a bit unintuitive is that the ignition switch is turned on by rotating it to the left. I have never seen anything turned on in any direction other than clockwise.

I was looking for an affordable option to the Honda and Yamaha for occasional use but had concern over the ability to run my Knaus motorhome air conditioning. Happy to say it runs my Ibis 3 air conditioner without concern. Even on automatic / economy mode it just powers up when the compressor kicks in. It has automatic decompression for really easy starting. For me its the perfect generator at half the price of the big brands.

Filled oil and petrol, pulled the choke and it started up at the first pull of the chord. The generator is surprisingly quiet and I love how the revs automatically increase and decrease according to the power you draw. I used it to run my angle grinder to cut an old water tank into pieces, while at the same time charging my phone and ipad. What a gem! I couldn't be happier.

Unpacked Cromtech 2400w Inverter Generator, read instructions, filled with synthetic SAE10-40 & 0.5L of fuel as instructed, second pull of the cord & all was good! Connected 1KW load + 100w lamp to Generator & left running to see how long 0.5L of fuel would last? Was very impressed to find it lasted 1/2 an hour which equates to around 5 hours running on a full tank of fuel, that's very good!!

I was not sure at first how this product would be at this low price, but on delivery I was exceptionally impressed with the robust quality, ease of use and claimed power to run all my caravan equipment including the trusty reverse cycle air con. Nice and compact and easy to move around, I would highly recommend this generator. Only minor detail needed is an hour meter, so fitted one myself for under 15 bucks. Excellent.

Hi, just to let you know I tested the Cromtech 2400w Inverter Generator as a backup power supply to a Rack Mounted UPS and it was fine: - 750w load - Voltage stayed at 228.9 (max over 40min was 230.4) under load - Ran it with Auto Throttle on (when load was applied the Cromtech revved up and down for about 10 seconds then sat at a constant rpm) - I let it run till the fuel ran out (approx. 40mins) and there was no power supply issues logged (notching, over/under supply etc) Overall worked well. Thanks.

Full meets my expectations Review by James Smith

The Cromtech Generator I purchase a couple of weeks ago has done all I have asked of it. Although it has only been in my family a short time she has been well received. She is up early when it has been snowing and the solar panels are covered making sure we have our hot coffee and warm toast before I leave for work without fuse or complaint. Just thought I would let you know the cromtech 2400 runs a air command sparrow mk4 air-condition heating (jayco swan outback), Just have to turn the auto throttle off and it copes with the start up current draw. Had the unit running for 10 hours today with heating and 240v fridge. Cheers Brett
