Received the new fridge within a week of purchase. Installed back in original place as the old Cr1080 but the mounting points were a little different but was a easy adjustment. A couple of hours and all done as the wiring was the same. The temperature was great and didn’t differ as much as the older version. Just a few degrees Was in 38 degrees temperature and worked great.

The reduced weight and lack of need for a fridge slide combined with lower power draw was exactly what I was looking for. The ease of pulling up and accessing the fridge is perfect.... Replaced 3 way 60L fridge in our Adria caravan. Although it took a bit of work to modify the space it fitted in perfectly and was able to add the trim from old fridge to the door. It is just so much better in operation and keeps food at correct temperature. And so much more usable space. Should have done this years ago.

Had an old Electrolux 3 way caravan fridge that was over greedy on 12 Volt and as such poor performance on a trip.. Replaced it with a Dometic CRX80 and am greatly impressed by the quick cool down and miserly draw on 12 volts . It fitted in the old spot with a minor modification to the height above cabinet. I am now seriously Off Grid and a happy camper.

The fridge has been great so far and we gave it a good run on our recent camping holiday.The upright configuration makes it easy to access everything instead of digging around in the chest which made life easier. If I was to pick anything that could be improved, it would probably be the lower plastic shelf and crisper flap. The shelf is not as sturdy as the typical wire shelf and the crisper flap does restrict the access to get things in and out. The bonus 8L cooler/warmer was a nice addition.

I've fitted this 80 litre fridge to my slide on Carry-Me camper. A fantastic product and worth every cent (less than $1,200 delivered). So much better for our purposes than an esky style 12 volt fridge that requires mounting on an expensive drop down fridge slide, as it's cheaper (especially when additional cost of the drop down fridge slide is included) and most importantly it's lighter - as I don't have the additional weight of the drop down slide. The fridge is so quiet you don't know it's on. As a bonus we also received an in-car 7 litre Waeco cooler/warmer.

We purchased the upright dometic fridge to put in our camper trailer. Also purchased the flush frame to finish off the installation although this is only really for looks. Fridge itself is good quality. I do find the handle a little flimsy feeling and must open with two hands. Will see how this goes as I have concerns this will break with the double latch. We are running the fridge off DC 240 ah battery bank and power consumption is well within tolerance. The built in freezer is handy however as there is no separate temperature have found that the fridge will freeze to keep the freezer section frozen. We have a separate freezer so will not generally use the freezer compartment but is very handy to have especially over night or short stays. Overall very happy with the fridge and is working very well. Great addition to our trailer.

Just spent two weeks remote camping in the Cape Range National Park. Had decided we weren't having a gas fridge in our camper trailer after our last one burnt down due to a gas leak. So we went with the solar panels, and the whole thing was excellent. The freezer was so good we even came back with some of our frozen food. The CRX80 is a great size, and using it in conjunction with our Engel in the car, we were covered for everything. Would say however, that the instructions for getting the right temperature were not exactly correct in the book ...

Not much tech stuff as a traveler, performance is all I'm interested in. I've been an engel user for years but because of the opening where my new fridge was to live, Engel just couldn't supply me with the right size, so the search began and the Dometic Waeco CRX80 was the closest size which would fit the opening. We go right out there in hills & dunes, the whole lot so its been two really hard weeks of travel and the crx 80 has not missed a beat. It surprised me that it cools down as fast as the engel in the truck and at night time it is so much quieter than the engel. Everything stayed in place reasonably well considering the terrain we traveled. As economic as the engel, and I'm running two 120 agm fullrivers battery and 200w solar on the roof with a victron regulator and even with some overcast days, the batteries stayed full and they were on 24 hrs everyday. This Dometic replaced my 18year old Domectic 3 way which has a new life in another van. Reason for CRX80: Just wanted to go totally offgrid.

1. Door layout was much better than expected with the option of either top or bottom opening systems. Even better is the vent which allows for airing when not in use. That was an unexpected bonus. 2. Fridge has only run for 24 hours (240v) so far. It cools down much better than the unit I had before. 3. Product I had before was much cheaper, but the quality of the Waeco 80l was so far in front of the other that the Waeco was clearly better value for money. Very happy with my purchase.

A Practical Cooling Solution Review by Geoff Martin

This 12v 240 volt fridge uses power economically (including a variable speed compressor) We found it drew at least 20% less than our old style fridge of the same size. The LED temperature display is clear and unambiguous while the LED interior lighting is bright and clear. There are other design improvements as well - simple things like relocating the position of the 240 volt plug and the rear facing 12 volt inputs means that the sides are free of obstructions making it easy to slide the fridge in and out of confined spaces. Overall this is a first rate product, we couldn't be happier.

Bought the CRX 80 fridge the replace the old fridge in my caravan. Found it to be an excellent product for my needs and only have it running on 12volt. It sits on 2 dogs beautifully and doesn't seem to draw much in the way of amps from the battery. Overall very happy with the product.

Recently installed this fridge in my kombi campervan, and since have had days of hi 30s to low 40degrees. The fridge maintained 4degC during this time, but I must say we had to have the temp set to its coolest setting. I found the door release catch to not always release at the bottom of the door.
