How can I increase the longevity of ice in my Dometic Icebox?
A few tips to keep ice for longer:
- Keep your icebox cool before use by keeping it in a cool area for a few hours. Using block ice inside the icebox will also increase the time the ice lasts.
- Ensure anything getting put in the icebox is cold beforehand.
- Try to keep the icebox as full as possible, as there will be less warm air getting into the icebox when it is opened.
- Try to avoid opening the icebox unnecessarily.

Hello there, is this product suitable to keep food warm?
Hi Sam, an icebox is not designed to keep food warm. It is designed to keep ice frozen for as long as possible.
For warming, you could consider a Thermoelectric Cooler/Warmer product; many of these models have the capability to cool down to below around 20- 25 °C or heat to 55- 65 °C above the outside temperature.
These units will require electical power to run (either 240v or 12/24v).

Inadequate handles Review by Chris CundyWhile the esky is effective in keeping things cool the designers need to rethink how they design handles strong enough to take the weight of this 68L esky when laden with food, drinks and ice. The supplied plastic handles are far from adequate, Mine snapped after two days of use. I replaced the handles with thick poly rope and a small piece of hosing as the actual handle you grab. Works far more effectively and is virtually indestructible. Plastic handles for big eskies is a no- brainer.(Posted on 11 August 2019)
Happy with purchase Review by Kelly KeatingWe've been using this product as an everyday item as we don't have power to run a fridge and we are very happy with it. I bring home blocks of ice that I freeze at work daily however it maintain it's chill over at least 5 days without replacement of ice blocks. The interior is easy to wipe out and the size means we can sort like foodstuffs into plastic containers for ease of sorting/retrieving. I do prefer to purchase locally but this item was of a significantly cheaper price and suited our budget at this point in our lives. thanks(Posted on 8 August 2018)
