Product Q&A
-
I have heard that roof racks/platforms have different on road and off-road rating. What is the load rating for the Front Runner roof racks?
Great question! Front Runner Outfitters will always have the same on road and off-road load rating on all their roof racks.
However, there are certain weight you will need to consider with any platform/roof rack:
- What is your load capacity of your car roof?
- What is the load rating of the roof rack/platform?
- What is the weight of the roof racks/platform?
- What is the weight of everything you want to add on your racks/platform?
So, for example:
If we use the 2011 Toyota Prado 150 Series as an example vehicle. The roof load rating is 100kg. If you choose to buy the Front Runner Slimline II Roof Rack (KRTP011T), it weighs 32kg. Therefore, you will have 68 kg left of your roof load rating, which means you can continue to load your roof rack with an additional 68kg
