• Hi, how do i calculate what size tractor engine is required to run a specific size of PTO generator?

  The general rule is that you multiply the kva by 1.25 to give a minimum engine Horse Power rating to run the generator.

  For example: 60kva x 1.25 = 75HP. In this instance you would need a tractor engine that produces a minimum of 75HP to run a 60kva three phase PTO generator.

  The generator uses a 3 to 1 gear box and draws 500rpm from the PTO.

• Could you advise place of manufacture? And durability compared to good quality generator?
