Product Description

Renogy 50W 12V Flexible Monocrystalline Solar Panel, 5 Year Warranty. Traditional solar panels are rigid and often enclosed in tempered glass. The Renogy 50W Flexible Solar Panel is anything but traditional. Perfect for marine use or placement on top of a van or vehicle, the Renogy 50W Lightweight Solar Panel is thin and capable of flexing up to 248 degrees. At 2.87 pounds, this flexible solar panel weighs only a quarter of its traditional 50W counterpart. Highly flexible, this lightweight panel can easily be installed on curved surfaces. This panel can also be used for other various applications, including providing power on a boat or teardrop trailer.

Mounting Recommendation: Modules may be mounted using silicon structural adhesive on the backside of the panel.

Features:

  • Extremely Flexible: This panel is capable of meeting a wide range of applications where standard panels can be inconvenient to mount, such as on the curved roof of an airstream

  • Ultra Lightweight: Thanks to advanced polymer materials, this product weighs 70% less than conventional solar panels, making transportation and installation a breeze

  • Super Thin Lamination: Hardly noticeable, the Renogy 50W Lightweight Panel laid flat is only a tenth of an inch tall making it ideal for a stealthy solar setup.

  • Highly Durable: Rigorously tested, the 50W panel was designed to withstand extreme wind of up to 2400 Pa and snow loads of up to 5400 Pa

Product Q&A

Ask Us a Question
  • How do I fix this to my roof? (MYG)

The panel has 6 eyelids, otherwise you can use a VHB double sided to secure to the roof.

  • What is required to finish my solar power system off the grid?

You will require adapter kit cables to wire the solar panel(s) and charge controller, as well as tray cables to connect the charge controller to a deep-cycle battery. A solar panel must be linked to a charge controller in order to regulate current, and a battery to store the electrical power.

  • What do the terms on- and off-grid mean?

Off-grid refers to systems that are not linked to the grid and therefore store the generated power for later use. Off-grid systems are not impacted by grid outages. On-grid simply implies solar power equipment (array or solar panel) is connected to the electrical grid.

  • Why does my solar panel not produce enough energy?

A lower power output can be caused by a variety of environmental factors, but the most prevalent ones include indirect sunlight, temperature increases, cloudy skies, and filth and stain accumulation on the upper glass.

  • In my electrical circuit, how should I connect the solar panels? (series versus parallel)

It is possible to connect solar panels in both series and parallel configurations to meet the size and power requirements of your electrical circuit. In series configuration, the operating voltage output of each panel will be added, and the system current output will equal that of a single panel; in parallel configuration, the operating current output of each panel will be added to the system output current, and the system output voltage will equal the output voltage of a single solar panel. In both cases, you can use both parallel and series connections to achieve the maximum power output and system rating for your power system.

  • What is the required number of solar panels?

Understanding and defining the power load required by this system is the best way to determine how many solar panels you need. Power is measured in Watts, and capacity is commonly measured in Watt-hours (power output in Watts multiplied by the required number of hours of operation multiplied by a safety factor of 1.5-2). For this reason, it is advisable to size your battery bank first based on the minimum required capacity, and then determine how many panels or how much power input is needed."

  • Are flexible solar panels safe for me to walk on?

We wouldn't recommend you do. Walking on a solar panel can result in significant pressure in small areas, which could lead to cracks and damage to the panel.

  • How can I clean my panels?

Built-up dirt and stains will lower the panel's power output, thus we advise routine maintenance to remove dust, sand, and other debris. You can clean the panels using a non-abrasive sponge and water.
