The Electric Control Module is only required if you want to have it connected to your door or ignition.

Can I add the Thule motor kit from the 12v Thule Single Step to this step?
Unfortunately the motor is not interchangable. You will need to purchase the Thule 12v Single Step if you want the automatic function.
