By having the Solar Charge Controller (Mppt) independent to the DC to DC charger it allows simultaneous charging from the alternator and the solar panels while driving. And every little bit of charge adds up when you are off grid and on the road.

The entire system is a Victron “Smart” system, which allows the user to connect all the components via the Victron Connect App on their Smart Phone or Device and monitor the Battery, Solar Input, Charging input from AC and DC.

Victron Smart Battery Protect 12/24V-65A

The Smart BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine. When using Bluetooth to program the Smart BatteryProtect any required engage/disengage levels can be set. Alternatively, one of nine predefined engage/disengage levels can be set with the programming pin.
