is this fridge tropical grade? what external temp can it handle?

Hi There

Vitrifrigo units are not labelled as being ‘Tropical’ rated, athough are very efficient in hot temperatures and humid climate conditions.

How can I assist with ventilation at the back of my Vitrifrigo?

Ventilation is the key to having a compressor fridge performing at it's best. Ensuring you have vents on the back outer wall of the caravan where the fridge is installed helps remove hot air produced from the compressor. Alternatively installing an extra 12v Fridge Fan near the compressor to push the hot air out the vents is also a great addition.

We have a 2003 Phoenix Nomad off road caravan. The original fridge is this model Vitrifrigo 130L litre compressor fridge. It has been working perfectly this whole time without any faults or breakdowns, until this last month April 2024 it failed to keep cold, although the freezer still works. So that's 20 years. I have no hestitation in buying another because it will outlive the caravan!

Big crisper drawers and door can hold 2 Lt Milk + tall bottles soft drink. We switched Door opening orientation with no problem. Door locks quite securely and it rubber seals work strongly. Overall ver happy with fridge so far. Time will tell.
